Digging through a box looking for a tool I ran across a light my wife got as a sock stuffer for Christmas. It was one of them shake it and it works light. Concept sounds good, shake it and a magnet induces a coil sending current to charge a capacitor to power the led. Problem? the people in China besides stamping made in China on it, used a transparent case so the insides could be viewed, the wires did not connect to the coil. She had bought 5 of these babies and I had torn one apart due to it did not look right, sure enough the LED was powered by 2 batteries taped to look like a capacitor. So shaking the thing does nothing at all, nothing! WHY? just WHY?
I get up at 6 in the morning and watch infomercials and also as part of my daily study on brainwash marketing. A mop that somehow while forcing steam out of it magically sucks juice out of a carpet? A free computer video offer that leads to videos showing up every month on the door, read the fine print or hidden print or maybe understand the shipping and handling that is not refundable is more than the product. How about exercise machines that do better as pool side chairs or playing volleyball with? Sometimes I feel like breaking ZipOnOver down and opening up right2say.com and buy these stupid devices and YouTube video from opening to attempted use by the instructions till its funeral in the trash can. Maybe phone record your product sucks with their tech support as they tell me the ungodly way to return it. Do you have a UPS battery backup for your computer, go read the terms for claiming damaged gear from the product not working correctly, you will get a laugh! I recommend a UPS battery backup to everyone but do not buy it for some $5,000 dollar warranty, it is just not that easy.
Why is it legal to false advertise or be extremely misleading?
